Montecito Fire Department provides paramedic emergency medical services to the community of Montecito. The delivery of high-quality, effective patient care is administered by the EMS Battalion Chief.

Montecito Fire Protection District operates a fully equipped Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic Squad, centrally located at Station 91. When staffing allows, additional Paramedic/Firefighters are staffed on our fire engines.

In addition to the frontline Paramedic Squad, the District maintains a transport ambulance for large-scale emergency medical incidents when private ambulance companies may be overwhelmed. Montecito Fire Protection District is recognized by the California EMS Authority as a Continuing Education Provider for Firefighter/Paramedics and Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians.

Montecito Fire Protection District is a participant in Santa Barbara County's automated EMS patient care record (PCR) system, utilizing Imagetrend software. The software is programmed to capture patient data upon receipt of a 911 call and provides enhanced capabilities for monitoring and evaluating patient care. The District is committed to protecting private patient healthcare information.
