With the implementation of VIVA, the hard copy FPC is no longer needed. All of the project information and plans will be input into VIVA.
A current Santa Barbara County permit number is required prior to submission of a project in VIVA. Applicant must upload the following documents with their submission:
- Plans that include the items listed below
- Cover sheet with scope of project
- Fire access site plan which addresses all items listed on the Plan Submission Guidelines
- Floor plan
- Fire Flow Report for the nearest hydrant. The report must be obtained from the Montecito Water District.
The Applicant must provide information for themselves and the property owner to submit an FPC in VIVA. If the Applicant would like other persons such as contractors, architects, engineers etc… to have access to the project, they may set them up as contacts in VIVA and include them on the FPC application for the project. The contacts will only have access to the projects they are assigned to in VIVA.
To determine the fire code requirements for your project please review the Montecito Development Standards and Ordinance 2022-01 adopting and amending the 2022 California Fire Code.
